John Thomas Jordan
Born in Washington County on November 9, 1839, Jordan graduated from the University of Georgia in 1861. He was a lawyer before the War broke out. He enlisted as a private in the 1st Georgia in March 1861. Jordan then joined the 49th Georgia as a lieutenant in C company. He eventually rose through the unit's ranks, eventually becoming colonel on March 24, 1864.
Jordan was wounded at Petersburg on April 2, 1865. After the War, he married and served in the Georgia legislature. Jordan died on March 10, 1895.
