Sydenham Moore
Sydenham Moore was born in Rutherford County, Tennessee on May 25, 1817. He studied law and was admitted to the bar and became a judge. Joining the fighting in the Mexican War, he served in Mexico as captain. Returning home, Moore was elected to Congress as a Democrat for two terms.
Moore became colonel of the Eleventh Alabama Regiment on June 11, 1861. He was mortally wounded at Seven Pines and died on August 20, 1862. He was buried in City Cemetery, Greensboro, Alabama.
