Francis Latimer Wiatt

Born in Fredericksburg on September 2, 1815, Wiatt later married in Missouri in 1842 and was living in Union County North Carolina and was occupied as a miner at the outbreak of the Civil War. He became the captain of A company of the 48th North Carolina, eventually rising to the rank of major. He was wounded at Harper's Ferry and resigned his commission on October 20, 1862.
